The Council of the Tovm of Pulaski, met in monthly
PRESENT
session tonight at 7:~0 at the -aayor's office.
There were present: mayor E. G"~`. Calfee, presiding,
Lottie R. Runion, Clerk, A. 'i+. Gatewood, Director Public
Vlorks, and Councilmen: A. T. Eskridge, T. J. 4~allner, L. E.
Whitesell, I. A.Sea.gle, T. L. James, A. :d. Bushong, G. C. Hall
and J. E. Bunts. Absent: None.

PAYROLLS rolls for the month of 3darch~ were audited, approved and
on motion duly made, seconded and unanimously passed, ordered
paid. Said bills are given at the conclusion of these minutes.

Virginia. Gak Flooring Company, appeared with his Counsel,
H. C. Gilner, Jr., and stated that taey vlere vriiling to do
everything possible to relieve this condition. The Council
appointed a coin~nittee composed of J. E. Bunts, 'I'. L. Janes
andG. C. Hall to investigate and make reco:~mendations and
report at the next .~aeeting.

ALLEY
BLOCi~ 31 BEFORE THE COUNCIL OF' THE TOVrN OF PULASKI, VIRGINIA:
In the ma ter Qf:
Discontinuance of a certain Alley. REPORT.
The undersigned Viewers heretofore appointed at the
regular meeting of the Council of the Town of Pulaski held on
the 5th day of March, 1940, beg to leave report unto your
Honorable Body:
That pursuant to the written application of the
Christ Episcopal Church, J. R. Glenn, nary Lou V`,~hite, hrs. J. R.
Glenn and Ernest and Gomes Dalton, asking that a certain 2G-
foot wide alley running North and South through Block 31, as
shown~on the official map of the Town of Pulaski, Virginia, said
alley being located in the rear of Christ Episcopal Church and
the White ~ Glenn building and running at right angles to 2nd
Street, North, be discontinued and re-located, and pursuant to
their appointment aforesaid , on the /~"~ day of March, 1940
proceeded to view said alley so prayed to be discontinued and
re-located.
We do, therefore, in response to said application
and appointment, report that in our opinion no inconvenience
will result to any persons whatsoever by reason of the discontinu ~e
and re-location of the aforesaid alley.

PETITION public places in said County, presented their application
to the Town of Pulaski,Virginia, for the discontinuance and
re-location of a certain ~O-foot vride alley running North and
South through Block x'31, as shown on the official map of the
Town of Pulaski- and as shown on plat on page 149 of these
minutes; and
VrHERExS, pursuant to said application, viewers were
app~nted at a previous ~aeeting of the Council of theTovrn of
Pulaski to view said alley proposed to be discontinued and re-
located, and required to report in vrriting vrh~t inconvenience, ;
if any, would result to any persons from the discontinuance
and re-location of said ally;
~~HEREAS, said viewers proceeded on the 11th day of
d-arch, 1940, to view said alley and have filed their written
report in which they state that no inconvenience will result
to any person or proprietors along said alley by reason of
the discontinuance and re-location of same.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that, in accordance
with the statutes in such cases made and provided, that p~
certain 20-foot wide alley running North and South through
Block #~41, as shown on the official map of the Town of Pulaski,
Virginia, and as shown and desc~ibdd on Plat on page 149
of tYiese minutes, be, and it hereby is ordered discontinued
and relocated.
