PRESENT There were present: Mayor L. `~JJ. Calfee, presiding, Lottie R. Bunion, clerk; ti. W. Gatev~ood, director of public works, and Councilmen: A. T. Eskridge, T. J. Wallner, L. E. V`dhitesell, J. ESTIMtiTE On motion duly, made, seconded and unanimously passed, 3rd St. t1• E. the. Council ordered an estimate made on the cost of re- constructing 3rd St., N. E. from Franklin avenue to Walnut tivenue. The mayor submitted a proposal of the Appalachian A.E.PO~~ER FRAtiCIiISE Electric Power Company with reference to the proposed PROPOShi, Franchise. of ter discussion of the matter, on motion duly . made, seconded and unanimously passed, the Mayor was authorized to make a personal investigation of franchises in other towns and to take with him such .other members of the Council as would be available for the trip.
