The reason for the revision of the zoning ordinance was. to be prepared to extend zoning to the annexed area when the .area .came into the Town. During the review of the existing ordinance, it was found that many areas could be improved. The new .ordinance is considerab: revised from the old ordinance and new provisions have been added. Upon inquiry regarding the Rhudy farm, Mr. Cofer advised that most of the land was zoned rural. residential, but on land use plan. it .was. shown as industrial. use as it is the best industrial. development potential. inside the future Town. Mr. Andy McCrady, McCrady Lumber, had several questions regarding M-2. His property is in the County and the Town. Mayor Hancock thanked Mr. Cofer, the Ordinance Committee and the Planning Commission and Anne Burgess for all their work on this ordinance. At 7:30 p.m., the Planning Commission adjourned to another room to discuss their recommendation to Council. Messrs. Glenn and Weddle arrived at the meeting at this time. At 7:43 p.m. the Planning Commission returned to the public hearing. Dr. Anneski, Chairman. of the Planning Commission, stated it was the unanimous recommendation that the revised zoning ordinance text and map. of the current .Town limits, including the height standards for the B-3 district be .approved. Mayor Hancock advised that. the purpose of the meeting was. to conduct a public hearing held jointly with the Town of Pulaski Planning Commission to gather citizzen input concerning a comprehensive revision of the Town zoning ordinance and map.IThe hearing was only to consider that. property which is in the current corporate li~:ti.ts of the Town of Pulaski and did not involve any land in the proposed annexed area. ,A separat public hearing on the annexed .area would be held after January 1, 1988, when th~'propert officially becomes part of the Town of Pulaski.
