Minutes of a special meeting of the Pulaski Town Council, held
September 1, 1971, at 7:30 P. M., in the Council Chamber of the
Municipal Building.
There were present; Mayor C. Robert Edens, presiding.
Councilmen. J. L. Congrove, Wm. A. House, Glen K. Aust,
Mason A. Vaughan, Raymond F. Ratcliff
Absent; Councilmen S. G. Frye, A. L. Graham, J. H. White
Also present: Town Managers J. E. Marshall
Visitors: Jane Graham, Southwest Times reporter
Sid Steger, WPUV Radio Station
The invocation was given by Councilman Vaughan.
In view of the regular clerk being unable to attend the meeting at
this time, J. E. Marshall was appointed Acting Clerk by motion of Mr. W. A.
Aouse, seconded by Councilaan Vaughan, and carried.

WAIVER OF NOTICE OF SPECIAL MEETING
We, the undersigned, duly elected members of the Council of
the Town of Pulaski, Virginia, hereby waive notice of a Special Meeting
of said Council at 7:30 P. M. on the 1st day of Septembers 1971, called
by Mayor C. Robert Edens, in the Municipal Offices in the Town of Pulaski,
Virginias for the purpose of announcing the appointment of a Chief of
Police for the Town of Pulaski Police Depa~r~tment.

Mayor Edens stated that the purpose of this meeting was to
announce the appointment of a Chief of Police for the Town of
Pulaski Police Department. After announcing the purpose of the
E.B.BURROUGHS meeting Mayor asked if there were any comments or questions on the

CHIEF OF matter, and there being none, Mr. House moved that E. K. Burroughs
POLICE
of Bristol_Tennessee Police Department be appointed Chief of
Police for the Town of Pulaski to complete the unexpired term of
deceased Chief C. E, Comer, Jr. Motion was seconded by Mr. Vaughan,
There being no discussion, the question on the motion was called
and it was passed unanimously,
Mr. Ratcliff requested that a request from Dean Cox be placed
on the agenda and so moved, seconded by Mr. Aust, and-the motion
carried.
The request from Mr. Cox was that the Town consider placing
UTILITIES
COMM. TO a water line to serve his property in the 10 area. Mr. House moved,

OF DEAN COX seconded by Mr. Aust, that the matter be referred to the Utilities
FOR SEWER TO
PROPERTY Committee. The motion was carried.
There being no further business, Mr. V<^.:ughan moved, seconded by
Mr. House that the meeting be adjourned, Motion was carried at 7145
P. M.
