Minutes of the regular meeting of the Pulaski Town Council
There were present: Mayor C. Robert Edens, presiding.
Councilmen: A. L. Graham, S. G. Frye, Raymond F. Ratcliff,
W. D. Macgill, Jr., Wm. A. House, J.H. FQhite,
Mason A. Vaughan, Glen K. Aust

The invocation was given by Councilman Macgill.
Minutes of the May 6th meeting were approved as corrected.
Mr. Irby Hollingsworth appeared bef ore Council and asked that
his taxicab operators license be reinstated. Town Manager Marshall
advised Council that Police Chief Comer had revoked Mr. Hollings~aorth's
taxi operators license upon Mr. Hollingsworth's conviction of stealing
funds of the Cab Company for whom he was driving. Mr. Mashall reported

but is giving trouble and a larger line was necessary. Mr. Bragg, and
Mr. Gibbs had no objection to this request and were in favor of the

installation of a better water line to the area.

Councilman House reported on the recent meeting with a

Reporting for the Safety Committee, Town Manager Marshall
advised that a representative from the Traffic Light Company was in

At the last meeting of Council Town Manager Marshall was
directed to make a study and report to Council of his findings relative e
to thw zoning regularions affecting the proposed construction of
a f ood store and coin operated laundry at the intersection o~
Monte Vista Drive and Bob White Boulevard. Mr. Marshall reported

such an operation as is proposed. He further stated that a conderence
with the Building Inspector and Zoning Administrator indicated that all
codes and ordinances are being met including the area that will be used
for parking, and that the owner or owners advise that the parking area
as proposed will not overlap into the R-2, Residential areas, and
shoud it do so, parking will be legal as long as it is not commercial
in nature.

Town Manager Marshall reported that at the Last meeting of
Council the Street Committee recommended that the request of Mrs.
Anne A. English to close a street in the English Forest Subdivision
be referred to the Town Planning Commission for review and recommenda-
tion to Council. He further reported that the~_Pl.anning Commission
RECOMMENDATION met on May 19th and recommended to Council that the present situation

J. R. Dobyns of Pulaski, in which letter it was requested that the
property owners on Hermosa Drive in Draper Mountain Estates, requested

Sewer-Committee. The motion:was seconded by Councilman Graham, and
carried.
_ -Town Manager Marshall advised that. in February of 1967 the
Council adopted the.Workabl:e Program, which in part adopted the Southern
Standard Housing Code. :He further stated that under-.the Housing Code the
Council shall establish a: Housing-Board of Adjustments and Appeals,
composed of one Realtor, one Physician, One Architect, Engineer or

sooner or later some appeals would be made, and a list of persons had been
contacted to see if they would be willing to serve on such a Board, wets
presented to the Council. After a discussion of this Councilman White
moved that the Town Attorney be directed to prepare the proper ordinat4ce
carrying out the conditions of the Housing Code, for Council's approval.
The motion was seconded by Councilman Ratcliff, and carried.

Town Manager Marshall reported that the lights at Calfee

Park had been repaired and that thirty or more were now in service
that have not been in operation for sometime; that wires had been re-
paired, and there was need of the replacement of many poles. He
stated some consideration should be given to establishing a program
for this particular project and he hoped to include funds in the
coming budget for this.
The House trailer application of Donna Edwards to place

for this application. The motion was seconded by Councilman Aust, and
carried.
Town Attorney Moore advised Council of a visit to his office
recently by a man from Maryland who wished to place funds in the Town

by Councilman Macgill, and carried, that the Town Attorney be directed
to draw a "sample" ordinance appointing trustees for the Cemetery
Trust Fund for Council's approval.
Councilman Frye moved that the sum of $125.00 be appropriated
