Robert Edens, presiding. Councilmen: Raymond F. Ratcliff, W, D. MacgilL, Jr., Wm. A. House, Mason A. Vaughan, S. G. Frye, J. H. White, A. L. Graham, Glen K. Aust Also present: Town Manager: J. E. Marshall Clerk: Gladys R..Dalton Town Attorney: Garnett S. Moore Visitors: J. R. Schrader, Southwest Times reporter Paul Dellinger, Roanoke Times reporter Joyce Gardner, WPUV Radio Station reporter Carl Hanks and Alan Groseclose, YMCA J. B. Warner L. G. Turman Joyce Kimbrough Linda Adams Robinson The invocation was given by Councilman House. Minutes of the regular meeting of March 17th were approved as recorded. As advertised in the Local newspaper, a public hearing was held on the application of Joyce Kimbrough for permission to place a mobile home trailer on lot at 919 Jackson Avenue. There appreared to be no one present objecting to this. Upon the recommendation of Town Manager KIMBROUGH Marshall Council advised that 'a final decision would be made at the next L. ADAMS regular meeting in order that a further investigation might be ,made. TRAILER APPLICS. Linda Adams Robinson appeared bef ore Council and asked that the TO BE CONSIDERED trailer permit granted her six months ago be extended for another six NEXT MEETING - months. After some discussion of the existing circumstances, Councilman Ratcliff moved that the Town Manager look at this situation further to see if there have been any changes. The motion was seconded by Council- man Aust, and carried. Mr. L. C. Turman asked Council to relocate the water main that crosses over his property located on Lee Highway east of the Pulaski Flower REQ.FOR REMOVAL Show in order that he might hardsurface this property. Town Manager OF WATER LINE RT. 11 Marshall advised that he and the Water Committee had looked at this REPORT TO BE MADE situation but that at this time were not in posistion to make a report, AT NEXT MEETING but hoped to have a report by the next meeting of Council. °: Apr i'3 .7, 1970 Alan Groseclose, on behalf of the YMCA Building Committee, gave Council a brief resume of the status of the YMCA building program, and progress on the new YMCA building. Mr. Groseclose exhibited building plans and specifications of the new YMCA to be YMCA REQ. FOR SEWER, WATER & located off Oakhurst Avenue on a 7-1/2 acre tract purchased from STREET REF. TO APPROPRIATE tje C. E. Bones Estate. Ire=further stated that the remainder of CfJMMITTEE the Bones Estate lands had been purchased by Foy Aust, and others, and that a fifty foot strip had been reserved from Route 11 to Oakhurst Avenue and could be dedicated to the Town for a street, however, the YMCA was only asking that the Town construct a street from Oakhurst Avenue to the Y building, and they stood ready to dedicate this portion of the fifty foot strip to the Town for a street. Mr. Groseclose also asked that the Town install a 4 inch water line to the site, and that at some future time they would ask that sewer also be installed. Councilman Frye moved that the requests for street, water and sewer be referred to the appropriate Committees: Street, Water and Sewer Committees. The motion was seconded by Councilman Macgill, and carried. Reporting for the Study committee for the two Local Rescue Squads, Councilman Frye stated it was the recommendation of the Committee and its sub-coqunittee that a permanent Advisory Board be formed to APPROVE ADV. administer the financial affairs as well as to assist in building the BOARD FOR TWO LOCAL image of the two Squads and relieve them of fund raising programs. The RESCUE SQUADS Advisory Board would be composed of a representative from the Town, one from the County, one from the Town of Dublin, three from each of the Rescue Squads, one from the Chamber of Commerce, and one from each of the three Community Funds existing in the Councy, and the Board would also be responsible for disburing the funds. Mr. Frye stated that the County had already approved the recommendation, and he moved that Council appr ove the recommendation of this Study Committee. The motion was seconded by Councilman Aust, and carried. Mayor Edens appointed Mr. Frye to represent the Town of Pulaski on the Advisory Board. '~t~' April 7, 1970 As a matter of information only, Councilman Aust reported that since a chain had been placed on one entrance to the ViIIa Dairy Bar i'I CHAIN on Newbern Road, no complaints had been received about disturbances there. VILLA DAIRY BAR Town Manager Marshall presented an application from Arnold C. Garlic for permission to place a house trailer on Dora Highway in the GARLIC Odell Subdivision. On motion of Councilman Aust, seconded by Councilman TRAILER APPLICA. Frye, and carried, it was moved that a public hearing be advertised on this application. Town Manager Marshall advised Council that a letter of request COMM. TO from the Pulaski General Hospital and Pulaski Hospital Clinic had been STUDY REQ. PUL.H06P. received in which letter permission was requested to utilize a portion FOR PARKING SPACE of the Town property at the rear of the Hospital for parking. Councilman Frye moved that the matter be studied by the Land Buildings and Parks Committee along with the Town Manager. The motion was seconded by Councilman House, and carried. 1 A request from the Claremont Corporation for the abandonment of an ST.COMM TO unopened street called Macgill Street, running East and Wes t• on both sides STUDY REQ. RE:UNOPENED of Bob White Boulevard, was tutnec$ over to the Street Committee to work MACGILL ST. with the Town Manager and Town Attorney. Councilman Frye moved that the matter of renewing the lease on COMM. TO the 114 acres of•land at Loving Field to Mr. Dan Tolbert, be referred to STUDY LEASE OF AIRPORT the Land Buildings and Parks~Committee, Town Attorney and Town Manager. LAN D The motion was seconded by Councilman Graham,-and carried. There being no further business, the meeting adjourned at 5:15 P. M. :APPROVED.
