Minutes of a called meeting of the Pulaski Town Council,
held on the )nth day of February, 1965, at 8:15 A. M. , in the
Municipal office.
There were present: Mayor C. p. Jackson, presiding.
Councilmen: Rudolph Firmer, C. B. Gallimote, TAI. S. Cummings,
F. L. Carrico, T. J. McCarthy, H. H. Eggert,
W. A. Larson
Absent: Glen K. Aust
Also present: Town Manager: T. B. Noland

The invocation was given by Councilman Carrico.
Mayor Jackson advised that the meeting had been called for
the purpose of discussion an option to the Peoples National Bank,
for the purchase of the Bunts Building, and also to appoint an
Issuing Justice to replace Issuing Justice C. G. Blankenship who
will retire as of February 15, 1965.
The matter of the appointment was discussed first and
it was the recommendation of Police Chief Comer that Officer
ELKINS APPOINTED Rudolph C. Elkins, Jr., be appointed Issuing Justice to replace

TO REPLACE Mr. Blankenship. Councilman Gallimore moved that a proper

ordinance be prepared carrying out the recommendation of Chief
Comer, and that said ordinance be brought back to Council for
adoption. This motion was seconded by Councilman McCarthy, and
carried unanimously.
Before the discussion of the sale of the Bunts property
began, Councilman McCarthy asked that he be excused inasmuch as he

There followed an informal discussion between Council and
PEOPLES BANK Mr. Hayter with regards to an option on the Bunts Building, in

TO PURCHASE which it was brought out that the Town had offered the building to

the Peoples Bank for the sum of $55,000.00 and would grant an
option to the Bank for three months, with the right to renew said
option for an additional three months. Mr. Hayter explained that
the Bank would execute an option in that amount. He further stated
that the Bank would need the time. to secure and study architectural
plans for the drive-in bank which they propose to place on this lot
and during this time the present lessees of the building would not be
disturbed. After further discussion of the terms of the option, upon
BUNTS BLDG, the motion of Councilman Eggert, it was, RESOLVED, that the Town of
Pulaski, in consideration of the payment of the sum of X200.00 by

NATIONAL Bank an option to purchase the trwan-owned property located at the
corner of Washington Avenue and First Street, North, commonly known

as the "Bunts Building", for the sum of $55,000.00 within a period

of ninety days with the right thereafter to renew said option for an
additional period of ninety days; that the option be prepared and
that it will contain all of the other covenants which the Peoples
National Bank and the Town have reached concerning the lessees; the filial
closing and other matters agreed upon betw~,~n the two parties; and
that upon the preparation of the option it will be returned to the
Council for its ratification and authorization of signatures by the
Town officials. This motion was seconded by Councilman Cummings, and
carried on the following vote:
