Minutes of the Public Hearing, held by the Pulaski
Town Council, on June 21~, 1965, at 1:00 P. M., in the Town Ha11.
There were present: Vice-Piayor T. J. McCarthy, presiding.
Councilmen: W. S. Cummings, F. L. Carrico, Glen K. Aust,
Rudolph Farmer, H. H. Eggert, C. B. Gallimore,
W. A. Larson

The invocation was given by Councilman Carrico.
Vice-Mayor McCarthy stated that as had been advertised in
the local newspaper, the purpose of the public hearing was to consider
the proposed budget of the Town cf Pulaski for the fiscal year 1965-66,
and to hear all persons desiring to be heard relative to the proposed

CONSIDER down Manager Noland recommended to Council that since there had been an

BUDGET adjustment in the revenue, that the sum of ~1t5,000.00 be paid on Debt

1965-66 Retirement rather than the $20,000.00 originally recommended in the pro-
posed budget. Mr. Noland also advised Council that there should be an
appropriation under the j~Tater Fund of X33,000.00 to cover the cost of
water tank and feeder lines for the Hall's Hill Project (Pleasant Hill
Drive). On motion of Councilman Carrico, seconded by Councilman Eggert,
and carried unanimously, it was, RESOLVED, that consideration and approval

Aust, and carried unanimously, the following resolution was adopted:
TO THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF PULASKI COUNTY:
WHEREAS, a petition has been or is being submitted to
the Board of Supervisors of Pulaski County requesting the establish-
ment as a part of the Secondary System of State Highways of a
certain road/street, said road/street beginning at the Wythe-
Pulaski County Line at the end of Wythe County Route 712, and thence
extending in a easterly direction about 0.7 miles to dead end; and,

Town Manager Noland gave Council a report on his
investigation with regards to a request from the City Cable Company
for permission to transfer the franchise granted to them by Council
on July 21, 196l~, to the Booth Broadcasting Company, and recommended
to Council that permission be granted to the City Cable Company to

repairs to TV sets and TV services. Mr. Moore further suggested
that the one per cent (l~) of gross receipts from the sale of this
service to be paid to the Town of Pulaski. and contained in the franchise,
be raised to two per cent. These stipulations were agreed to by
Council and Town Attorney Moore and Town Manager Noland were authorized
to discuss them with Mr. Philip Sadler, Attorney for City Cable Company,
and that a proper resolution be drawn for Council's adoption at its
meeting on June 30th.
