Minutes of the regular meeting of the Pulaski
Town Council, held March 15, 196b, at lt:00 P. M., in the
Municipal office.
There were present: Mayor C. V. Jackson, presiding.
Councilmen: C. B. Gallimore, Rudolph Farmer,
H. H. Eggert, F. L. Carrico,
Glen K. Aust, T. J. McCarthy,
W. S. Cummings, W. A. Larson
Also present: Acting Town Manager: H. C. Jackson

The invocation was given by Councilman Aust.
The minutes of March 1st meeting were approved, as
were the minutes of a special meeting of March 10th, and read by the C
Clerk, as recorded by Mrs. Doris Larson. On motion of Councilman
Gallimore, seconded by Councilman Cummings, and carried, Mrs. Doris
Larson was appointed Clerk for the special meeting of March 10th.
On motion of Councilman Farmer, seconded by Councilman
PULASKI MTB. CO. Cummings, and carried, the Pulaski Motor Company was granted
GIVEN PERMISSION
TO PLACE OFFICE permission to place a new office trailer to be used exclusively as
TRAILER ON CAR
LOT. a sales office on their new-used car lot on East Main Street.

that the usual procedure be followed for such trailer applications.
Councilman Larson reported that it was the feeling of the

and recommendation of the Finance Committee, and on motion of
Councilman Carrico, seconded by Councilman Aust, and carried, it was,
RESOLVED, that the Town Treasurer contact the Auditor and get a
ruling on the possibility of setting aside certain amounts of

money for specific jobs or projects, and report to the Council.
Councilman Cummings advised that the water committee
had no definite report at that time, but it was understood that

Reporting for the Street Committee, Councilman McCarthy
stated it was the recommendation of the Committee that the widening
of Third Street, from Jefferson Avenue to Randolph Avenue, be

On motion of Councilman Gallimore, seconded by
Councilman Eggert, and carried, it was, RESOLVED, that the recommenda-

ACCEPTED. Street be accepted, and proceed with the project. It was understood
by all that Council had previously approved the lateral along Third
Street to the Methodist Church alley, to the big drain from the
Presbyterian Church to Peak Creek.
There followed a discussion relative to the big drai n
project and Mr. McCarthy advised that the Street Committee felt
that the drain should be done as soon as possible, but that the

cheaper to contract the whole job. It was suggested that bids be
secured on the construction of the big drain from the Presbyterian
Church to Peak Creek, to be considered along with an estimate of
the cost furnished by Acting Town Manager Jackson. Mr. H. C.

between Jefferson and Randolph Avenues.

Mayor Jackson advised that it was through the efforts

tax within the corporate limits.
Acting Town Manager Jackson gave a report on various
projects, as follows: He stated good progress was being made on
replacing the drain pipe in Calfee Park. The boats had been
delivered to Gatewood Lake, and that 600 trout had been placed

held up pending the securing of black-top to go on this street.
Progress was being made on the opening of the new road to the new
landfill site on the mountain, and that the new garbage truck would
probably arrive within the next week or twn days. Town crews
have also been busy patching holes in the streets.
Councilman Aust asked that the Police Department report
on the accidents and activity at the corner of Third Street and

On motion of Councilman Larson, seconded by Councilman
Aust, and carried, it was, RESOLVED, that the Town would send

IN MOBILE. Alabama competing for the National Junior Miss Title, in an
amount not to exceed $25.00, and to be charged to Account No. 1A-201-3.
