Minutes of a called meeting of the Pulaski Town
Council, held on the 11th day of July, 193, at !i : C~0 P . M. ,
in the Municipal office.
There were present: Mayor C. V. Jackson, presiding.
Councilmen: C. B. Gallimore, Billy B. Flint,
W. S. Cummings, t^'. A. Larson,
Glen K. Aust, F. L. Carrico,
Eugene L. Nuckols, T. J. McCarthy
Also present: Town Manager: T. B. Noland
Clerk: Gladys R. Dalton
Town Attorney: Garnett S. Moore
Visitors: Harry Aust
The invocation was given by Councilman Aust.
Mayor Jackson stated that because pressing matters
had come up it was believed a special meeting was necessary.
It was felt that Council needed to discuss the Lee Street

Council first discussed the request of Mr. Karnes,
who is purchasing the Harry Aust property on Fifth Street )formerly
the Hunt property) for the purpose of developing a small
shopping center, that the alley between this property and
Coleman Furniture Corporation and running east and west
between Madison and Tr~ashington Avenues be hardsurfaced and
made available to traffic. In this discussion it was brought
out, by letter from Mr. John B. Spiers, Jr., Attorney for Mr.

OPINION THAT Karnes, as well as an expression from Town Attorney Moore that

officials of the Coleman Furniture Corporation and advise
them of what had taken place at this meeting, and further
advise them that a decision would be made by Council at its
regular meeting on July 16th.
Other matters were discussed but no action was
taken by Council. The meeting adjourned at 5:30 P. M.
