Minutes of the regular meeting of the Pulaski Town
Council held on the 2nd day of January, 1.96?_, at 1~ P. M., in
the Municipal office.
There were present: Mayor C.V. Jackson, presiding.
Councj7.men: Billy B. F13:nt, T. J. McCarthy, Glen K. Aust,
F. L. Carrico, John W. Nash, Eugene L.
Nuckols, Claude B. Gallimore
Absent: ~doodson S. Cummings

The invocation was given by Councilman Gal h.more.
On motion made, seconded and carried, on the unanimous
vote of those present, T. B. Noland was named to serve as
T.B.NOLAND temporary clerk for the recording of the mi rna.tes of this meeting,

SERVE AS in the absence of the regular clerk.
TEMPORARY
CLERK Minutes of the meeting of December 19 were approved.
Mrs. J. F. Spencer indicated that she had come to the
meeting to see if there were any developments concerning the problem
in which she was particularly interested, smoke abatement,.. but
Mated that she anticipated no new developments in view of the

Mr. McCarthy, Chairman of the Finance Committee, reminded
Council of the action which had been taken at the last meeting,
which action approved the immediate use of ~7~0.00 of the $7.500.
budget appropriation, by the New River Valley Industrial Commission.

appropriations with the understanding that the whole appro-
rriation could be used in the current fiscal. year so that the
Commission could rlan on a calendar year basis. Action had not
yet been taken in Giles County, but Pulaski County and the City
of Radford had approved the revised r7 an. After a discussion of thi.h
development motion was made, seconded and carried on the unanimous
vote of those present, that the Industrial Commission is authorized
to count on the full $l.KOO.OO appropriation in the current b~zdget
to further the work of the Commission towards establishing a full-
time office at New River Valley Airport.
There was a report from Councilman Flint, who is Chairman
of the Zand, Buildings and narks Committee, on that group's
negotiations with the other barties of interest concerning the
ownership of Peak Creek channel. As a result of this meeting
