XCEPTION FOR
LIGHT MANUFACTURING AT 1040 EAST MAIN STREET
WHEREAS, RAS Properties, L.L.C. applied for a special exception under Section
410.3-12 of the Zoning Regulations of the Town of Pulaski, Virginia to allow Technical
Services Group, L.L.C. to operate a light manufacturing facility at 1040 East Main
Street; and,
WHEREAS, the subject property is zoned B-2 General Business District and is
identified as Tax Map No. 072-140-0000-000G and is recorded in Instrument No. 2008-
497; and,
WHEREAS, after advertisement required by law, the Planning Commission and Town
Council conducted a joint public hearing on June 2, 2009 wherein the comments and
concerns of the public were heard; the factors listed in Section 702.4-5 of the Zoning
Regulations of the Town of Pulaski, Virginia were considered by the Planning
Commission and Town Council; and the recommendation of the Planning Commission
was reviewed and considered by Town Council; and,
WHEREAS, the Town Council did consider and found as fact that the proposed special
exception is compatible with the surrounding uses; is consistent with the intent of the
Zoning Regulations and the Comprehensive Plan; is in the public interest; and will
comply with other provisions of law and ordinances of the Town of Pulaski,
NOW THEREFORE be it ORDAINED by the Town Council of the Town of Pulaski,
Virginia sitting in regular session this 16th day of June 2009, that the application of
RAS Properties, L.L.C. for a special exception to allow Technical Services Group, L.L.C.
to operate a light manufacturing establishment at 1040 East Main Street is hereby
approved subject to the following conditions:
• ~ ;Unloading and loading of heavy trucks must be at the rear of the building.
• ~ 'There will be no outside storage of parts, materials, trash and debris, except that
trash and debris must be placed in a PSA dumpster at the rear of the building.
• This special exception will be void if the premises are vacated by Technical
Services Group, L.L.C or if the use is discontinued for more than thirty (30) days.
• In the event of a dispute as to whether or not a use is similar or dissimilar, or
otherwise allowable, or in the event that this ordinance requires interpretation,
the findings of the Town Council will be final.
• This special exception permits the refurbishing of industrial manufacturing
machinery of similar scope.
This ordinance is effective upon adoption and is hereby adopted this 16th day of June
• 2009 by the duly recorded vote of the Town Council of the Town of Pulaski, Virginia as
