HomeMy WebLinkAbout2012-05ORDINANCE 2012-05 ORDINANCE SETTING THE FEE FOR NEGOTIABLE INSTRUMENTS DEEMED UNCOLLECTABLE WHEREAS, the Town Council of the Town of Pulaski, Virginia has studied and considered the effects on its citizens and the budget regarding the return of checks and other negotiable instruments for insufficient funds to the Town; and WHEREAS, the Town Council has determined that it is justified and consistent with the public interest and general welfare to set forth penalties regarding the return of checks and other negotiable instruments deemed uncollectable to the Town; NOW, THEREFORE be it ORDAINED b~ the Town Council of the Town of Pulaski, Virginia sitting in regular session this 15` day of May 2012, that a fee of forty dollars ($40.00) shall be imposed on the maker of any negotiable instrument returned to the Town by a banking institution as uncollectable. This ordinance is effective July 1, 2012 and is hereby adopted this 15`h day of May 2012 by the duly recorded vote of the Town Council of the Town of Pulaski, Virginia as follows: Morgan P.
