A Resolution Returning TEA-21 Grant Funds Reserved for the Iron Bridge Trail Project
to the Virginia Department of Transportation
WHEREAS, the Town of Pulaski received aTEA-21 Grant from the Virginia Department of
Transportation in 2004 in the amount of $31,000 for the proposed Iron Bridge Walking Trail
Project; and,
WHEREAS, due to general economic conditions and changes in spending priorities for
operational expenditures and capital items, the Town does not at this time have the
resources to continue or complete this project at the level of quality desired for the
community; and,
WHEREAS, due to these circumstances, the Town Council has elected to return the TEA-21
Grant funds for the Iron Bridge Walking Trail Project to the Virginia Department of
Transportation with the understanding that should circumstances change, the Town would
reapply to the Virginia Department of Transportation at a future date for funding of this
project;
NOW, THEREFORE be it RESOLVED by the Town Council of the Town of Pulaski, Virginia
sitting in regular session this 8th day of October 2014 that any funding received, designated
for, encumbered or otherwise set aside under the TEA-21 Program for a grant for the Iron
Bridge Walking Trail Project shall be released to the Virginia Department of Transportation.
FURTHER RESOLVED that if any funds from the Grant have been expended by the Town,
the amount of such funds spent shall be reimbursed to the Virginia Department of
Transportation.
This resolution shall be effective upon adoption and is hereby adopted this 8th day of October
2014 by the duly recorded vote of the Town Council of the Town of Pulaski, Virginia as
follows:
