A Resolution Authorizing Submission of an Application
To the Governor's Industrial Revitalization Fund
WHEREAS, the Virginia Department of Housing and Community Development is
facilitating applications to the Governor's Industrial Revitalization Fund; and,
WHEREAS, cities, counties, towns and local industrial development authorities may
apply for funding through Governor McDonnell's Commission on Economic
Development and Job Creation; and,
WHEREAS, the Dalton Building, built in 1921 and listed on the National Historical
Register, may qualify for funding, due to its condition and critical location in the center of
Downtown Pulaski; and,
WHEREAS, the owner has agreed to convey the building to the Pulaski County
Industrial Development Authority (IDA); upon the receipt by local governments of said
funding and,
WHEREAS, the Pulaski County IDA will administer a match of dollar for dollar in the
amount of the funding awarded by the state;
NOW, THEREFORE be it RESOLVED by the Town Council of the Town of Pulaski,
Virginia sitting in regular session this 17th day of September 2013 does hereby authorize
its Economic Development Director to submit an application in the amount of $300,000
to the Virginia Department of Housing and Community Development.
This resolution is effective upon adoption and is hereby adopted by the duly recorded
vote of the Town Council of the Town of Pulaski, Virginia as follows:
