A RESOLUTION HONORING JOSEPH K. GOODMAN
FOR HIS SERVICE AS A MEMBER OF TOWN COUNCIL
WHEREAS, Joseph K. Goodman has faithfully and honorably served the citizens of the Town
of Pulaski as a member of the Town Council from July 1, 2010 to June 30, 2014; and;
WHEREAS, in the aftermath of the Tornado Emergency of April 8, 2011, Mr. Goodman
promptly reported to the Town Municipal Building rendering assistance as called upon,
including fueling a Town vehicle at his own expense so a Fire Department search Team could
get into one of the hardest hit areas; and,
WHEREAS, Mr. Goodman, as Vice-Mayor, represented the Town on the Town Council-
Board of Supervisors Meeting Group; the Virginia's First Regional Industrial Facilities
Authority and the Virginia Municipal League; and,
WHEREAS, Mr. Goodman was known and respected for his desire that the Town operate in
as efficient and fiscally responsible manner as possible to continue to provide quality services
to the citizens in a time of fiscal austerity and economic uncertainty; and
WHEREAS, he was also a proponent and supporter of initiatives to encourage new
businesses and enterprises within the community for the redevelopment of the Town's
economy;
NOW, THEREFORE be it RESOLVED by the Town Council of the Town of Pulaski, Virginia
sitting in regular session this 8th day of July 2014, that the Town Council hereby recognizes
the contributions of and expresses its appreciation to Mr. Joseph K. Goodman for his
dedicated service to the citizens of the Town of Pulaski as a member of Town Council.
This resolution is effective upon adoption and is hereby adopted this 8th day of July 2014 by
the duly recorded vote of the Town Council of the Town of Pulaski, Virginia as follows:
