A Resolution of Appreciation and Gratitude to Aric Bopp
For His Service to the Town of Pulaski
WHEREAS, the New River Valley has been fortunate to have had Aric Bopp spend a portion of his succesgful
career in Economic Development in our area; and,
WHEREAS, his sojourn here has faced the enormous transitions in traditional manufacturing and off-shoring
leading to job loss; and,
WHEREAS, Aric was tireless and ever optimistic about the advantages Pulaski, Pulaski County, and the entire
Valley could offer the next wave of more advanced operations utilizing greater technology and skills; and,
WHEREAS, Aric built firm and strong relations with officials at the Virginia Economic Partnership in Richmond
to market the Valley directly as well as working closely with local staff members, authorities, and elected
officials; and,
WHEREAS, Aric traveled extensively to trade shows around the country touting the NRV, meeting with site
selectors, conferring with state and federal officials, and was willing to follow-up every lead; and,
WHEREAS, Aric has embraced both the tangible resources such as workforce, the universities, and the
community college and well as the intangible: our quality of life, the beauty of the area, and its attractiveness
both to national but also international companies; and,
WHEREAS, the evidence of his work can be seen at James Hardie Building Products, Fall Stamping NRV,
Phoenix Packaging, Korona Candles, RICK-USA, Red Sun Farms, Alexander Arms, just to mention a few new
businesses that have come to Pulaski Town and County that has enabled the County's unemployment rate to
tumble to 5.0% in November; and,
WHEREAS, Aric and his family are now heading to the City of Phoenix, Arizona, a state where his beloved
Holly, will be closer to her family and where he can continue to expand his skills in public service and making a
difference in the lives of others,
NOW, THEREFORE be in RESOLVED on this 3rd day of March 2015 that the Council of the Town of Pulaski
expresses its deep appreciation and gratitude to Aric Bopp for his service to the Town and the entire New
River Valley and wishes the Bopp Family Godspeed as they continue their journey.
This resolution is effective upon adoption and is hereby adopted this 3rd day of March 2015 by the duly
recorded vote of the Town Council of the Town of Pulaski as follows:
