Ordinance Amending the Permitted Uses in the B-1 District
to Include Athletic Fields
WHEREAS, the Town Council and the Planning Commission of the Town of Pulaski, Virginia
conducted a duly noticed joint public hearing on April 21, 2015 to consider amending the B-1
District regulations to permit athletic fields as a use in the B-1 Local Business District; and,
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission, following the joint public hearing and reception of public
comments, recommended to Town Council that athletic fields and their customary accessory
structures be allowed as a permitted "by-right" use in the B-1 Local Business District; and
WHEREAS, after receiving the recommendation of the Planning Commission, the Town Council
considered it in the best interest of the public and determined it is consistent with the general
welfare of the citizens to accept the recommendation of the Planning Commission and amend
the Zoning Regulations and Zoning Ordinance accordingly; and,
WHEREAS, the Town Council of the Town of Pulaski, Virginia has considered the best interests
of the community and its citizens and bases the following amendment to the Zoning Regulations
and Zoning Ordinance upon the public necessity, convenience, general welfare and good
zoning practices;
NOW, THEREFORE be it ORDAINED by the Town Council of the Town of Pulaski, Virginia
sitting in special session this 28th day of April 2015, that Section 409.2 of the Zoning
Regulations, pertaining to the B-1 Local Business District Permitted Uses, be amended by the
addition of the following section:
Section 409.2-26 Athletic fields and their customary accessory structures.
This ordinance is effective upon adoption and is hereby adopted this 28th day of April 2015 by
the duly recorded vote of the Town Council of the Town of Virginia as follows:
