Ordinance Amending the Personnel Policy Clarifying
the Payout of Compensatory Time at Employee Separation
WHEREAS, the Town deems it necessary to clarify policies within the Personnel Policy for the
benefit of the Town and its employees; and,
WHEREAS, an amendment concerning the policy regarding payment of compensatory time to
an employee separating from the Town was deemed necessary for clarification;
NOW, THEREFORE be it ORDAINED by the Town Council of the Town of Pulaski, Virginia
sitting in regular session this 6t1 day of April 2021 that Number 6 of subsection P
"Compensatory Time" as listed under Section 5 "Compensation Plan"; be amended to read as
follows:
116) Pay -out: Employees cannot lose compensatory time. The Town reserves the
right to pay out an employee's compensatory time at their current rate of pay. At
separation, retirement, or change of status from non-exempt to exempt, employees will
be paid their compensatory rate at their current rate of pay."
This ordinance is effective upon adoption and is hereby adopted this 6th day of April 2021 by the
duly recorded vote of the Town Council of the Town of Pulaski, Virginia as follows:
