Ordinance Approving a Zoning Amendment to Section 5.33 Table 2 Off Street Parking
For Multi -Family residential use
WHEREAS, a determination was made that a study of requirements withinthe Town -of Pulaski
were necessary to further the best interests of the community and to bring the Town's zoning
regulations and ordinances into conformity with currently accepted zoning practices, statutory
laws and court rulings from the state and national governments; and,
WHEREAS, following a review of parking space requirements in other jurisdictions the Planning
Commission conducted a duly noticed public hearing on September 13, 2021 and issued
Planning Commission Resolution 2021-06ZA, attached hereto and expressly made part of this
ordinance as if set forth herein, finding'that the publicnecessity;.convenience, general welfare
and good zoning practices. could be met by amending the off street parking space for Multi -
Family residential uses requirements to the Zoning Ordinance; and,
WHEREAS the Town Council conducted a duly noticed public hearing on October 5, 2021
wherein the comments of the public were heard and the recommendation of the Planning
Commission, as stated in Planning Commission Resolution 2021-06ZA, was considered;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED by the Town Council of the Town of Pulaski, Virginia,
-sitting in regular session this 5th day of October 2021, that the application to amend Section 5.33
of the Zoning Ordinance, Table 2 off Street parking for Multi -Family residential use requirements
as shown in Attachment A -Ordinance 2021-22, is hereby approved.
This ordinance is effective upon adoption and is hereby adopted this 19th day of October 2021
by the duly recorded vote of the Town Council of the Town of Pulaski, Virginia as follows:

TOWN OF PULASKI PLANNING COMMISSION
Special Exception
WHEREAS the Town of Pulaski Planning Commission in studying a proposed amendment to Section
5:3.3, Table 2: Off -Street Parking Space Requirements for Multi -family Residential Use of the Zoning
-Ordinance to change the parking requirements to One (1) space per unit for one bedroom apartments,
One and a Half (1'/:) spaces per unit for two bedroom apartments, and Two (2) spaces per unit for three
bedroom apartments with an additional parking space requirement to equal ten percent (10%) of the
total unit count, has found following a duly advertised public hearing that the public necessity,
convenience, general welfare, and good zoning practices ( ermi / dees net per ) the zoning
amendment request.
THEREFORE, LET IT BE RESOLVED that the Town of Pulaski Planning Commission (�r�eeo / dees
that the Pulaski Town Council approve the zoning amendment to Section 5.3.3, Table
2: Off -Street Parking Space Requirements for Multi -family Residential Use of the Zoning Ordinance.

The above resolution was adopted on motion by Chris Conner seconded by _ Tracy Belcher at a
meeting of the Planning Commission following a duly advertised public hearing on the above request on
September 13, 2021. Upon a roll call vote on the foregoing resolution, the Planning Commission
members present throughout all deliberations on the foregoing and voting or abstaining, stood as
