NOW,THEREFORE be it ORDAINED by the Town Council of the Town of Pulaski, Virginia, sitting in regular session this 21-11 day of December 2021 that the property located at 1000 Memorial Drive [tax parcel(s) 072-140-48 8, 072-140-48A] as shown in the attached materials, affixed hereto and made expressly part of this Ordinance is hereby approved for Special Exception for the Light Industrial Use, Industry Type 1. Industry Type 1 CASE OVERVIEW: The Town of Pulaski has received a request for Special Exception from Bimmerworld Properties LLC for property located at 1000 Memorial Drive (072-140-48 & 072-140-48A) for the light industrial use, Industry Type 1. Bimmerworld is currently located in Dublin, VA and is looking to expand which is why they are considering purchasing this location. The purchase is contingent upon the outcome of this request. Bimmerworld sells parts and competes in racing events across the globe Currently, they have around 50 employees and would use the property for their office space, warehouse space, part assembling/ machining, and shop area in which they will work on/modify their race cars. The largest use impact at the facility will be a dynamometer_machine. This machine will be located indoors and also be enclosed in an additional room within the indoor space to mitigate external sound. Included in the packet is the Industry Type 1 definition which would best describe the overall use that is projected for this property. The old Magic Mart will serve to host the majority of their operations but they may use some of the adjacent spaces as well for miscellaneous uses. Their current location in Dublin is two buildings of a total of over 30,000 square feet. The old Magic Mart space is approximately 72,000 square feet. DISCLOSURE: The application shall be-evaluated on compatibility with the Comprehensive Plan and to official Town policies, including the purposes and development requirements of the Zoning Ordinance. The Planning Commission is to make.a recommendation to Town Council upon review of the submitted application materials, finds as a fact that the proposed use is compatible with surroundings uses, is consistent with the intent of this Ordinance and of the Comprehensive Plan, is in the public interest, . and will comply with all other provisions of law and ordinances of the Town of Pulaski.
