Resolution in Observance of National Emergency Services Week
WHEREAS, in 1974, President Gerald Ford authorized EMS Week to celebrate EMS practitioners and the important
work they do in our nation's communities; and,
WHEREAS, in observance of this week, the Town Council desires to recognize the local Emergency Medical Services
personnel who put the needs of their communities above their own as they respond to crises, treat injuries, and save
lives; and,
WHEREAS, the heroism of these professionals has been on full display throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, as resilient
EMS workers across the country provided essential care to Americans and,
WHEREAS, the unwavering commitment of EMS providers to public service often comes at the cost of their own
physical well-being, mental health, and precious time with loved ones; and,
WHEREAS, it is vital that we share our appreciation for the selfless EMS professionals who provide lifesaving services
every day and risk their lives each time they answer the call of service; and,
WHEREAS, the week of May 15-22 is an opportunity to honor the men and women who provide services to the
citizens of the Town of Pulaski; and
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Town Council of the Town of Pulaski, Virginia sitting in regular session this
17th day of May that the Town Council as part of National Emergency Medical Services Week, does hereby recognize
and commend the EMS professional's dedication to the community and their fellow citizens.
This resolution is effective upon adoption and is hereby adopted the 17th day of May 2022 by the duly recorded vote
of the Town Council of Pulaski, Virginia as follows:
