Resolution Recognizing PST Ashley Newby
for her Lifesaving Efforts and Actions
WHEREAS, the Town Council of the Town of Pulaski, Virginia wishes to recognize and
commend heroic efforts of Public Safety Telecommunicators (PST) and First Responders; and,
WHEREAS, in February 2025, PST Ashley Newby assisted with an emergency 911 call, and
coordinated with her team which was able to quickly identify the medical emergency and
provide critical CPR lifesaving instructions to the distressed caller until emergency personnel
arrived and the patient was resuscitated; and,
WHEREAS, training, professionalism and coordinated teamwork and emergency response
efforts of Public Safety Telecommunicators and First Responders are critical in life -threatening
situations as well as for the overall protection of the community;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Town Council of the Town of Pulaski,
Virginia sitting in regular session this 181h day of March, 2025 that the Town Council does
hereby recognize and commend Ashley Newby for her quick response and for providing
coordination and instruction that directly contributed to life-saving results.
This resolution is effective upon adoption and is hereby adopted the 18th day of March, 2025 by
the duly recorded vote of the Town Council of Pulaski, Virginia as follows:
