RESOLUTION SUPPORTING THE DEVELOPMENT
OF THE
REGIONAL COMMERCE PARK
WHEREAS, the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia have been amended by the
General Assembly to permit partnerships between localities for the purpose of joining
together to create a regional commerce park; and
WHEREAS, under the aforementioned laws, localities participating in such regional
commerce parks, shall share in the tax revenues generated by such a park; and
WHEREAS, the New River Valley has been the first area selected for a such project in
the New Century Council neighborhood;
WHEREAS, a 2,000 acre tract located adjacent to the New River Valley Airport in
Pulaski County has been selected as the initial site for such a regional commerce park.
NOW THEREFORE, be it resolved by the Town Council of the Town of Pulaski,
Virginia, sitting in regular session on February 17, 1998, that the Town Council resolves
to support the development of a commerce park located in Pulaski County and strongly
urges localities within the New Century area to join in support for the development of
such a facility.
This resolution is effective upon adoption and is adopted by duly recorded vote of the
Town Council, on this, the 17`~ day of February, 1998 as follows:
