A RESOLUTION TO SUPPORT THE APPLICATION OF PULASKI COUNTY
TO THE VIRGINIA DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING AND COMMUNITY
DEVELOPMENT FOR AN ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT
BLOCK GRANT
WHEREAS, the Town Council of the Town of Pulaski seeks to strongly encourage and
support efforts by the County of Pulaski and the Town of Dublin to seek funding for
community development initiatives; and
WHEREAS, the Town Council recognizes the economic interdependence of the Towns
and the County and further recognizes the importance of manufacturing to the economy
of Pulaski County, the Town of Pulaski, and the Town of Dublin; and
WHEREAS, the County of Pulaski has applied to the Virginia Department of Housing
and Community Development for an Economic Development Block Grant to assist in
enlarging the infrastructure supporting the operations of the Volvo/GM Heavy Truck
Plant;
• NOW THEREFORE, be it RESOLVED by the Town Council of the Town of Pulaski,
Virginia, sitting in regular session on March 17, 1998, that the Town Council supports
Pulaski County's application for an Economic Development Block Grant and urges the
Virginia Department of Housing and Community Development to approve the county's
request for the aforesaid block grant funds.
This resolution is effective upon adoption and is adopted by recorded vote of the Town
Council of the Town of Pulaski, Virginia, on this 17~` day of March, 1998, by the
recorded vote of the Town Council as follows.:
