HomeMy WebLinkAbout99-19RESOLUTION 99-19 • RESOLUTION INITIATING ZONING AMENDMENT CONSIDERATION: DELETION OF PROVISIONS CONCERNING YARD SALES WHEREAS, Section 15.2-2286 of the Code of Virginia allows zoning ordinance amendments to be initiated by a written resolution of the governing body of a locality, setting for the public purpose therefore; and, WHEREAS, an ordinance regulating yard sales was passed by Town Council, the Council found that provisions regulating yard sales were also contained in the Town's Zoning Regulations, and, WHEREAS, the Town Council found that public necessity, public convenience, the general welfare, and prevention of the existence of conflicting statutes require that provisions in the Zoning Regulations be deleted to allow full application of the Town's yard sale ordinance without conflict; NOW, THEREFORE, be it RESOLVED by the Town Council of the Town of Pulaski, Virginia, sitting in regular session on May 4, 1999, that the Town Council does hereby initiate a possible zoning code amendment and does hereby formally refer the same to the Planning Commission of the Town of Pulaski for consideration. The specific actions to be considered would delete from the Zoning Regulations measures regulating yard sales. • This regulation is effective upon adoption and is adopted by recorded vote of the Town Council of the Town of Pulaski, Virginia, on this 4~' day of May 1999: James M.
