RESOLUTION # 99-20
HONORING
THOMAS G. "TOMMY" BAKER, JR.
WHEREAS, "Tommy" Baker has faithfully served the 7th Legislative District as
Delegate to the General Assembly for the past decade in such a manner as to deserve our
gratitude and commendation, and;
WHEREAS, through Mr. Baker's leadership, zone status was obtained for the Town for
Pulaski's Enterprise Zone, Public Educational funding was enhanced, the restoration of
the Pulaski R.a.ilway Station was completed, to name only several of "Tommy's"
numerous legislative accomplishments on behalf of the 7~' Legislative District; and;
WHEREAS, Mr. Baker has earned both the admiration and the respect of the citizens of
the Town of Pulaski by improving the quality of life within the Town through his hard
work, self sacrifice and dedication.
NOW THEREFORE, be it resolved by the Town Council of the Town of Pulaski,
• Virginia, sitting in regular session on May 4, 1999, that Town Council and the Town's
citizens do hereby express their sincere appreciation to Mr. Baker for his loyal service to
the Town of Pulaski as well as to the 7~' Legislative District.
This resolution is effective upon adoption and is adopted by recorded vote of the Town
Council of the Town of Pulaski, Virginia, on the 4~' day of May, 1999 as follows:
