RESOLUTION 99-23
A RESOLUTION OF RECOGNITION AND THANI{S TO THE VETERANS
OF THE TOWN OF PULASICI, VIRGINIA
WHEREAS, in light of the recent Memorial Day Holiday and the upcoming 55`~
anniversary of the landings in Normandy, France during D-Day, June 6, 1944, the Town
Council and Citizens of the Town of Pulaski are mindful of the sacrifices made by our
servicemen to preserve our liberty;
VVI~REAS, many citizens of the Town of Pulaski have served in uniform during the
various wars and conflicts that our nation has been involved in and have also served to
preserve the peace in the absence of conflict;
WHEREAS, such service to the nation has involved great personal sacrifice and loss of
life for the preservation of our freedom;
BE IT THEREFORE RESOLVED, that thc Town Council of Pulaski, Virginia cxtcnds
its recognition and heartfelt thanks to the men and women of the Town of Pulaski, who
• have served or are presently serving in uniform, for their service to their country and to
their community.
This resolution is effective upon adoption and is adopted this 1°` day of June, 1999 as
follows:
