RESOLUTION NO.204Q-10
" SPRUCE UP 2000"
APRIL 29, 2000
WHEREAS, the governing body of the Town of Pulaski is interested in the
health, welfare and economic well-being of its citizenry and the community at large; and,
WHEREAS, the Town intends to carry out an annual campaign against visual
blight due to nuisances, trash, debris and unkempt properties; and,
WHEREAS, Town Council and Downtown Pulaski Incorporated has joined in
with the Commonwealth of Virginia in officially recognizing April as "Operation Spruce
Up Month" in Virginia which seeks ways to encourage good stewardship of Virginia's
natural and historic resources.
WHEREAS, the Town and Downtown Pulaski Incorporated hopes to build on the
efforts of the successful Town Beautification Committee, by utilizing volunteers from
civic groups, churches, businesses and others to assist in fix uplclean up Saturday on
• Apri129, 2000 with this effort being called "Operation Spruce Up 2000."
NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved that the Town Council of the Town of
Pulaski, Virginia, wholeheartedly supports "Operation Spruce Up 2000" and declares
April as "Operation Spruce Up Month."
This resolution is effective upon adoption and is adopted by the recorded vote of
the Town Council of the Town of Pulaski, Virginia, sitting in regular session on this 7~'
day of March, 2000, as follows:
