HomeMy WebLinkAbout2000-12 Resolution No. 2004-12 CONDEMNI~TION OF JOSEpH DUNNIV ANT PROPERTY WHERr:AS, the Town of Pulaski, Vit~nia has considered and determined that a public safety ha .rand exists at the intersection of MacGiIl Street aBd Newbetn Road within the limits of the Town of Pulaski; and WAEREAS, the intersection of MacGiU. Street and I~tewbetn Road requires a realignment and widening in order to correct an existing inadequate right of way; and `YHEREAS, the co~ctioa of the aforesaid inadequate right of vray would foster public safety and. facilitate a proper and safe fuming lane; and NOW, THEREFORE, B~E IT HERCBY RESOLVED by Town Council in regular session that Council does authorize and $ppsvve the proposed public use of the Dunnivant properly, identified as 072- 001-0000-18a onthe Tax Maps of the Town of Pulaski, '~irginia for the public purpose of correcting the aforesaid inadequate rig~tt of way at the intersection of MacGill Street and Newbern Road; and THEREFORE, BE IT FURTAER RESOLVED that the Iowa Attoarey is hereby duetted to acquire the property known as the Duunivant lot and identified as 072-001-0000-18a on the Tax Maps of • the town of Pulaski, Virginia for the public use expressly approved by adoption of this resolution and to proceed by condemnation as permitted by law. This Resolution is effective as of 3 - 0 7 - , 2000 and is adopted this ---?~- nay of • M~~~h , 2000. James M.
