AUTHORIZATION TO TOWN ATTORNEY
TO PREPARE OPTION AGREEMENT
FOR LOVING FIELD PROPERTY
WHEREAS, the Pulaski County School Board has requested an option to purchase an
estimated 50 acres of the Town's Loving Field properties for the purpose of constructing
elementary and middle schools; and,
NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the Town Council of the Town of Pulaski,
Virginia, sitting in regular session on April 18, 2000, that the Town approves the preparation by
the Town's attorney of an option on an estimated SO acres of the Town's Loving Field Property
to the Pulaski County School Board for the following express purposes and conditions:
For use as an elementary and/or middle school only; and
2. The general public and the Town Recreation Department shall have
access to the gymnasiums and other recreational facilities after school
hours; and
3. The purchase price shall be $4,000/acre; and
4. The option period shall be one year unless extended in writing; and
5. The Town of Pulaski shall be allowed to participate in the planning
process for said schedule; and
6. The Town Attorney shall prepare an option that will be non-transferrable
and which would restrict use of the site by the Pulaski County School
Board for schools only and that otherwise the property would revert
to the Town of Pulaski; and
7. The said property will be optioned "as is" and the Pulaski County School
Board would be responsible for the extension of any necessary utilities;
however, the Town shall have access to all utilities to serve the remainder
of the Town's properly;
8. The Town Attorney shall prepare a description of the premises after consultation
with the County Attorney.
This resolution shall repeal and/or supplant any prior action on this matter by Council
including Resolution 99-40.

This Resolution is effective upon adoption and adopted by duly recorded vote of the
Town Council of the Town of Pulaski, Virginia on this 18`~ day of April, 2000 as follows:
