RESOLUTION 2000-16
NAMING THE WALIHI~TG TRAIL AT DORA HIGHWAY
THE TAD STEGER WALIdNG TRAIL
WHEREAS, Mr. James W. "Tad" Steger resided in the Town of Pulaski for 7? years; and,
WHEREAS, Mr. Steger wholeheartedly gave of himself and his time for the betterment of
his community by rendering service to others through, visiting shut-ins, driving the Senior
Center bus to functions, teaching Sunday school and participating in the choir at the Eirst
United Methodist Church; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Steger was an avid participant in the Senior Olympics and a skilled
outdoorsman; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Steger was an active, enthusiastic participant in the Pulaski Senior Center
program and the Central Walking Club; and,
WHEREAS, the Town of Pulaski would like to honor Mr. Steger for his legacy of
dedication and service to the community by naming the walking trail at Dora Highway for
him.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Town Council of the Town of Pulaski,
Virginia, sitting in regular session on May 16, 2000, that the Town Council should and
hereby does name the walking trail at Dora Highway "The Tad Steger Walking Trail" and
does hereby authorize staff to prepare an appropriate sign to this effect.
This resolution is effective upon adoption and is adopted by recorded vote of the Town
Council of the Town of Pulaski, on this 16th day of May, 2000 as follows:
