HomeMy WebLinkAbout2000-31 Resolution 2000-31 Regarding Revisions to Cemetery Lot Prices WHEREAS, the Town of Pulaski is responsible for the care of municipal cemeteries, including maintenance and the sale of lots including those in Oakwood and Pinehurst; and WHEREAS, lot sale income is distributed 25% to maintenance and 75% to build up to a perpetual care fund; and, WHEREAS, the Finance Committee of Town Council desires to increase funds available for maintenance and to accelerate the accumulation of funds for eventual perpetual care; and, WHEREAS, the Town of Pulaski lot sale prices are generally low in comparison to certain other public and private cemeteries; and, WHEREAS, the Finance Committee has recommended that lot prices that presently range from $100 to $200 at Oakwood and Oakwood Addition and from $50 to $150 at Pinehurst and Pinehurst Addition, respectively, be increased proportionately by 50% at each location. • NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Pulaski Town Council that the proposed price revisions be approved and be as follows: $150 and $300 at Oakwood and Oakwood Addition, respectively; and $75 to $225 at Pinehurst and Pinehurst Addition, respectively, effective beginning January 1, 2001. This Resolution is effective upon adoption and is adopted on the recorded vote of the Town Council of the Town of Pulaski, Virginia, on this, the 5th day of December, 2000 as follows: Lane R.
