Resolution 2000-33
Regarding the Virginia Public Authorities Agreement for the Purchase of Electricity
from Appalachian Power Company (dba American Electric Power)
WHEREAS, Pulaski Town Council has previously received the Virginia Public Authorities
Agreement for the Purchase of Electricity from the Appalachian Power Company (dba American
Electric Power) as negotiated by the Virginia Municipal League on behalf of participating
jurisdictions; and,
WHEREAS, the said agreement addresses rates for the two year period ending June 30, 2002
excepting the municipal street lighting tariffs; and,
WHEREAS, said agreement has been recommended by the Virginia Municipal League
negotiation team and reviewed by the Town; and,
WHEREAS, a reduction of rates charged municipal accounts is said to average 4.41% generally.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the proposed Virginia Public Authority
Agreement be and it hereby is approved; and,
FURTHER, that the Town Manager be and he hereby is authorized to execute said agreement.
This Resolution is effective upon adoption and is adopted on the recorded vote of the
Town Council of the Town of Pulaski, Virginia, on this, the 5th day of December, 2000 as
follows:
