RESOLUTION 2001-07
Regarding Exemption to Vehicle License Fee
•
WHEREAS, Town Council has previously authorized the preparation of an ordinance to
conform local law regarding vehicle licenses to Virginia law regarding state fees; and,
WHEREAS, the Town was awaiting clarifications regarding the effect of the State
statutes; and,
WHEREAS, Virginia requirements limit any local fee to not exceed aone-time
assessment of $10.00 for such eligible vehicles.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Town Council that antique vehicles
as so determined by regulation or definition under State law, shall be exempt from the
payment of a $20 local license fee and further, that decals no longer be issued annually
for such vehicles.
FURTHER, the Town Attorney is directed to incorporate such terms into an ordinance.
This Resolution is effective upon adoption and is adopted by recorded vote of the Town
Council of the Town of Pulaski, Virginia, on this 5`h day of June, 2001, as follows:
