RESOLUTION 2001-17
HONORING MICHAEL DOWELL
WHEREAS, Michael Dowell, Director of the Fine Arts Center for the New River Valley, is
relocating to Waynesboro, Virginia; and,
WHEREAS, Mr. Dowell, has led the Fine Arts Center for the New River Valley, located in the
town of Pulaski, for 7 '/Z years; and,
WHEREAS, Mr. Dowell has facilitated both education and leisure activities in the Fine Arts, has
encouraged tourism, and has proposed improvements to the Fine Arts Center including the
proposed Maple Shade Project; and,
WHEREAS, Michael Dowell has contributed to civic affairs including service on Town
sponsored and non-profit committees; and,
WHEREAS, Town Council appreciates Mr. Dowell's service and his contributions to the
community.
NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the Town Council of the Town of Pulaski, Virginia,
sitting in regular session on August 7, 2001, that the Town Council should and hereby recognizes
the contributions of Mr. Dowell and commends him for his outstanding public service.
This Resolution is effective upon adoption and is adopted by recorded vote of the Town Council
of the Town of Pulaski, Virginia, on this 7~' day of August, 2001 as follows:
