HomeMy WebLinkAbout2001-29RESOLUTION 2001-29 Regarding a Request by the Friends of Claytor Lake For Support of their Proposal to the Virginia Department of Conservation and Recreation to Undertake a Claytor Lake Nutrient Management Project WHEREAS, Mr. Powers of the Friends of Claytor Lake has contacted Mayor Stewart with regard to a proposal by that group to promote a project with the Virginia Department of Conservation and Recreation relative to the study of nutrient loading issues at Claytor Lake and its tributaries; and, WHEREAS, Mayor Stewart has consented to support such an effort. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Town Council offers its support to effective and constructive measures to enhance water quality at Claytor Lake and its tributaries; and, FURTHER, that the proposed Claytor Lake Nutrient Management Project has the potential to provide a beneficial assessment of nutrient conditions and alternative management measures to improve or enhance water quality and Council hereby supports such a project. This Resolution is effective upon adoption and is hereby adopted by recorded vote of the Town Council of the Town of Pulaski, Virginia on this 4~' day of December, 2001 as follows: Jeffrey S.
