HONORING
ANDREW L. GRAHAM, JR.
WHEREAS, Andrew L. Graham, Jr. died on March 5, 2002; and,
WHEREAS, Mr. Graham faithfully and honorably served the Town of Pulaski as Mayor
from July 1994 to January 1997, and as Councilperson from July 1968 to June 1984, and
July 1986 to June 1994; and,
WHEREAS, Mr. Graham also served as the Peppers Ferry Regional Resource Authority
Representative, Virginia Municipal League Representative, New River Resource
Authority Alternate and on the Train Station Committee; and,
WHEREAS, Mr. Graham served the Town with dedication to the concepts of effective
and representative democratic local government and this work merited the respect and
confidence of Town Council, Town employees, and the community; and,
WHEREAS, During his over 27 years of service, Mr. Graham dealt capably with
numerous complex issues and carried out his civic duties in a highly responsible manner;
and,
WHEREAS, Mr. Graham served all citizens of the Town with fairness, honesty,
integrity, professionalism, kindness and respect.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Town Council of the Town of
Pulaski, Virginia, sitting in regular session on March 5, 2002, that the Town Council
should and hereby recognizes the significant and lasting contributions of Mr. Graham to
the citizens of the Town of Pulaski ;and
FURTHER, Town Council extends its sympathies to the family of Andrew L. Graham.
This resolution is effective upon adoption and is adopted by recorded vote of the Town
Council of the Town of Pulaski, Virginia on this 5~' day of March, 2002 as follows:
