RESOLUTION 2004-O1
A RESOLUTION OF COMMENDATION
TO
CECIL H. "CHIP" HUTCHINSON
WHEREAS, Cecil H. "Chip" Hutchinson participated in a Law Enforcement for Fire
Marshal 's seven week program that grants full police powers to local Fire Marshal's;
and,
WHEREAS, the classes were taught by instructors from the Virginia Department of Fire
Programs and Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services; and,
WHEREAS, Mr. Hutchinson certified as a Fire Marshal with full police powers,
enabling him to take a fire investigation from start to finish; and,
WHEREAS, Chip received the second highest academic grade point for the class and
received certification as a law enforcement officer, firearms certified, expandable baton
certified, and O.C. spray (pepper spray) certified; and,
• WHEREAS, Mr. Hutchinson has also been certified as a Deputy Sheriff in Pulaski
County.
NOW THEREFORE, be it RESOLVED by the Town Council of the Town of Pulaski,
Virginia, sitting in regular session this 6`h day of January, 2004, that the Council
commends Cecil H. "Chip" Hutchinson for his participation in the Law Enforcement for
Fire Marshal 's program and recognizes his commitment to academic excellence.
This Resolution is effective upon adoption and is adopted this 6th day of January, 2004 by
recorded vote as follows:
