HomeMy WebLinkAbout2005-11,~ TOWN OF PULASHI • RESOLUTION 2005-11 REGARDING REVISIONS TO CEMETERY LOT PRICES WHEREAS, the Town of Pulaski is responsible for the care of municipal cemeteries, including maintenance and the sale of lots including those in Oakwood and Pinehurst; and WHEREAS, lot sale income is distributed 25% to maintenance and 75% to build up to a perpetual care fund; and WHEREAS, the Town Council desires to increase funds available for maintenance and to accelerate the accumulation of funds for eventual perpetual care; and WHEREAS, the Town of Pulaski lot sale prices are generally low in comparison to certain other public and private cemeteries; and WHEREAS, the Cemetery Trustees have recommended that lot prices that presently range from $150 to $300 at Oakwood and Oakwood Addition, respectively; and $75 to $225 at Pinehurst and Pinehurst Addition, respectively, be increased proportionately by $50 at each location. NOW, THEREFORE, be it RESOLVED by the Town Council of the Town of Pulaski, Virginia that the proposed price revisions be approved and be as follows: $200 and $350 at Oakwood and Oakwood Addition, respectively; and $125 and $275 at Pinehurst and Pinehurst Addition, respectively, effective beginning April 1, 2005. This Resolution is effective upon adoption and is hereby adopted this 15th day of March, 2005, by recorded vote of the Town Council of the Town of Pulaski, Virginia as follows: Jeffrey S. In the areas designated by the Soils Engineer, the maximum rock size shall be 18" diameter when placed in a 24" lift of rock fill at the direction and observation of the Soils Engineer. Summary of cost change = ($ 250,000) Change 2 -Additive Bid Item 2 - Ezcavation of Additional Unsuitable Material H.T. Bowling shall revised their unit price to $4 / CY for this work. Change 3 -Responsibility for the First Three Feet of Undercut Summary of cost change ~ (S 12,000) The Contractor shall be paid for the first three feet of undercut, beneath fill or cut, at a unit price of $4.00 per cubic yard. Summary of cost change a ($ 400,000) Change 4 -Eliminate Additive Bid Item 5 -lime 1Yeatment The estimated quantity for the Lime Treatment shall be reduced to zero (0) tons. Summary of cost change = ($1,000,000) Change S -Additive Bid Item # 4 - Importing of Ofl'-Site Fill Material The estimated quantity for Additive Bid Item # 4 shall be revised to be 150,000 / CY. The Town of Pulaski • has agreed to provide aflag--man at the borrow site. Additionally, H.T. Bowling's unit price shall be revised to be $10 / CY. Summary of cost changes $900,000 Change 6 -Installation of Erosion Control for Waste Areas The Town of Pulaski shall be responsible for the implementation of the erosion control measures as needed for the wasting of the unused, excavated material in a designated area on the property owned / controlled by the Town a~f Pulaski Change 7 -Additive Bid Item #3 -Additional Rock Ezcavation Summary of cost change = ($ 50,000) The estimated quantity for this bid item shall be revised to be 5,000 CY.
