RESOLUTION
HONORING CLAREMONT CHARGERS CHESS TEAM
WHEREAS, the Virginia State Chess Champions, Claremont Chargers, recently
competed in the National Elementary Chess Championships in Rye, New York
against 1,113 students from 33 states; and
WHEREAS, the Claremont Chargers finished in 4th Place in the primary
division against 402 students from 107 schools; and
WHEREAS, the Claremont Chargers 4th Place team includes Todd Southern,
B.J. Southern, Bradley Talley, Katy Talley, Seth Davis and Adam Zel; and
WHEREAS, in the Individual category, Seth Davis and Adam Zel finished in
10th Place and 16th Place, respectively.
NOW, THEREFORE, be it RESOLVED by the Town Council of the Town of
Pulaski, Virginia, sitting in regular session on May 7, 1991, that the
Town Council should and hereby congratulates the Claremont Chargers, who
brought national recognition to themselves, their school and the Town of
Pulaski.
This resolution is effective upon adoption and is adopted by recorded
vote of the Town Council of the Town of Pulaski, Virginia, on this 7th
day of May, 1991 as follows:
