HomeMy WebLinkAbout93-06• Resolution No. 93- ~ Resolution Clarifying The Town Council Policy For Interfund Tranfers of Monies WHEREAS, as part of its accounting system, the Town of Pulaski maintains various separate funds in which Town monies are segregated by source or purpose, including but not limited to the general operating fund, the water fund, the sewer fund, bond funds, the UDAG fund, and such other temporary and permanent funds as are necessary or convenient to carry out Town business; and, WHEREAS, as part of its budget process the Town Council approves in advance various planned transfers of Town monies between the Town funds; and, WHEREAS, while it is allowable by law for the Town administration to make interfund transfers of Town monies in order to carry out Town business, the Town Council has determined that the preferable manner of handling such transfers is to have the Council or its duly authorized committee approve any unbudgeted transfers in advance; NOW, THEREFORE, be it RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Pulaski, Virginia, • sitting in regular session on May 4, 1993, that it is the policy of the Town Council that any transfer of monies among Town funds must be approved by the Town Council in advance, either by general approval of such transfers as part of the budget process or by express approval of proposed unbudgeted transfers by the Finance Committee or the Council as a whole. This Resolution is effective on adoption and is adopted this 4th day of May, 1993, by duly recorded vote of the Town Council as follows: Charles D. Crispin Aye J. R. Schrader, Jr. Aye Roy H.
