HomeMy WebLinkAbout95-06 • RESOLUTION NO. 95-6 WHEREAS, it is necessary for a request by resolution be made to the Department of Transportation of the Commonwealth of Virginia, by the Council of the Town of Pulaski for each project. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Pulaski, Virginia, at its regular meeting on this 21st day of March, 1995, that: (1) The Virginia Department of Transportation is hereby requested to establish project(s) within the Town of Pulaski, Virginia, for the construction of East Main Street (Route 99) to four (4) lanes from the old East corporate limits to the new Southeast corporate limits as the highest priority project and a second lower priority project being the improvement of Peppers Ferry Road from Memorial Drive to the Northeast corporate limits. (2) The Town of Pulaski hereby agrees to pay its share of the cost for preliminary engineering, right of way and construction under the cost formula of 98% by the Virginia Department of Transportation and 2% by the Town of Pulaski. (3) If the Town of Pulaski subsequerrtly decides to cancel construction or improvement after Commission has initiated the project, the Town of Pulaski shall reimburse the Commission the net amount of all funds expended by the Commission for planning, engineering, right of way acquisition, demolition, relocation, construction between the date of initiation by the Town of Pulaski and the date of cancellation. This resolution is effective upon adoption, and is adopted this 21st day of March, 1995, by the recorded vote of the Town Council as follows: John A. Johnston John W. Stone Bettye H. Steger W. H.
