Authorizing Application for Enterprise Zone Designation
WHEREAS, the Virginia Department of Economic Development is soliciting applications for
enterprise zones; and
WHEREAS, in an effort to expand the Town's economic base and improve the physical and
social conditions of its citizens, the Department of Economic Development has prepared an
application; and
WHEREAS, the Town's application includes incentives to lower the start-up costs, decrease
regulations and abate tax liabilities for business and industry attraction, retention and
expansion; and
WHEREAS, the Town's application includes incentives to abate tax liabilities and provide
rehabilitation for housing to citizens; and
WHEREAS, the Town Council has discussed the enterprise zone's incentives and
boundaries; and
BE IT RESOLVED, by the Town Council of the Town of Pulaski, Virginia, sitting in regular
session on October 3, 1995, that it authorizes the submission of an application seeking an
• enterprise zone designation and that the Town Manager is authorized to submit all
information necessary to apply for the zone designation and to meet other program
administrative and reporting requirements
This Resolution is effective immediately and is adopted this 3rd day of October, 1995.
