HomeMy WebLinkAbout96-31• RESOLUTION NO.96-31 Project Programming Resolution Rail/Highway Grade Crossing Projects BE IT RESOLVED, by the Town Council of the Town of Pulaski, Virginia, sitting in regular session on November 19, 1996, that; WHEREAS, in accordance with the Virginia Department of Transportation construction allocation procedures, it is necessary that a request by Council resolution be made in order that the Department program an urban highway project in the Town of Pulaski; and THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Town of Pulaski, Virginia requests the Virginia Department of Transportation to establish a project for the improvement of Lottier railroad crossing from Commerce Street to the north side of the railroad tracks, a distance of approximately 70 feet. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Town of Pulaski hereby agrees to pay its 0.2 percent share of the total costs for preliminary engineering, right-of--way and construction for this project and requests that the remaining 9.8 percent of the designated loca~/state 10 percent share come from the Town's urban construction funds. If the Town subsequently elects to cancel this project, the Town hereby agrees to reimburse the Virginia Department of Transportation for the total amount of the costs expended by the Department through the date the Department is notified of such cancellation. • This Resolution is effective upon adoption and is adopted this 19th day of November, 1996.
