RESOLUTION - 96-34
HONORING
ROBERT J. LYONS
WHEREAS, Robert J. Lyons ,Assistant Town Manager, is relocating to Murfreesboro, Tennessee; and,
WHEREAS, Mr. Lyons served as Assistant to the Town Manager from July 23, 1990 to January 1993,
Acting Town Manager from January 1993 to May 1993, and Assistant Town Manager from May 1993 to
December 27, 1996; and,
WHEREAS, Mr. Lyons served the Town with dedication and passion to the concepts of effective and
democratic local government and his professionalism merited the respect and confidence of Town
Council, Town employees and the community; and,
WHEREAS, as Assistant Town Manager, Mr. Lyons created an environment that inspired excellence and
fostered the professional and personal development of the people he worked with; and,
WHEREAS, Mr. Lyons served all citizens of the Town with fairness, honesty, integrity, professionalism,
kindness and respect.
NOW THEREFORE, be it resolved by the Town Council of the Town of Pulaski, Virginia, sitting in
regular session on December 17, 1996, that the Town Council should and hereby recognizes the
significant and lasting contributions of Mr. Lyons to the citizens of the Town of Pulaski and commends
him for his outstanding public service.
This resolution is effective upon adoption and is adopted by recorded vote of the Town Council of the
Town of Pulaski, Virginia, on this 17th day of December 1996 as follows:
