Council Minutes
MaY 27, 1957, ~+ p.m.
The minutes of the special meeting of the Town
Council of the Town of Pulaski Virginias held on the
27th day of Mays 1957, at ~- p.m. in the municipal
offices.
There were present: Mayor C. V. Jackson presiding.
Councilmen: I. R. Carper F. L. Carrico A. E.
Lemons J. R. Martin! W. A. Larson W. F. White. ''
Also present: Town Manager: T. B. Noland
Clerk: Audrey N. Eidson
Visitors: Evelyn S. Halls Reporter
The meeting was opened with a prayer by Councilman
Carrico.
Mayor Jackson stated this special meeting was
called to discuss the proposed 1957-58 budget and such?
other matters as might be properly presented.
Whereupon the Town Manager presented an appli-
cation by Coleman Furniture Corporation for a building';
permit to construct a low water bridge across Peak
Creek.
On motion of W. F. Whitey seconded by W. A.
Larson it was unanimously
RESOLVED that the building permit be granted to
Coleman Furniture Corporation with the proviso that
the Town does not guarantee the plans or specification~j~
or that their intended use is proper and further that,;
the Town does not guarantee that the proposed structure
will not impede the flow of the stream.
On motion of W. F. Whitey seconded by W. A. Larson
it was unanimously
RESOLVED that the tax rate levy is to remain at
X1.60 for the year 1957-58•
The remainder of the meeting was denoted to consic

eration of the Watery Sewer and Cemetery funds of the
~,
proposed 1957-58 budget.
The meeting adjourned at 6:00 p.m.
