Oct. 23, 1956 The minutes of especial-meeting of the Town Council $eld on the 23rd day of October, 1956, at 4x00 p.m. in the Municipal Offices. There were presents Mayor C. V. Jackson, presiding Councilmens W. F. White, A. E. Lemuons, J. R. Martin, W. H. Wysor, Jr., F. L. Carrico, I. R. Carper w. s. C,~minga also presents Town Managers T. B. Noland Clerks ,Audrey E. Kingrea Engineers R. Lloyd Mathews Visitors: EQelyn S. Hall Art Levy The meeting was opened with a pr~rer by the Town Manager. Mayor Jackson stated that this meeting was called to discuss the procedure to be followed with reference to the Subdivision Ordinance, bat that in the absence of the Town Attorney, this matter would be dispensed with. The Town Manager presented a letter to the Council from the Town Manager of Abingdon relative to the proposed cutting off of sleeper service from Petersburg to Richmond on the Atlantic Coast Lines, Mr. Goodman stated that a meeting would be held in Marion, Virginia, on October 30, to prepare a pa~otest to the re- moval of the sleeper to be presented to the State Corporation Commission at a hearing scheduled in Richmond on December 3rd, After considerable discussion, on motion of J. R. Martin, seconded b9 W. F. White, it was RSSOLVE©, that the Town Attorney should atter~. the meeting at Marion on October 30, to protest the cutting off of certain trains. On motion duly made by i~. H. Wysor, Jr., seconded by W. F. White, it was decided to change the boundary of the proposed corporate limits from the South side of Route 11, between the eastern end of Windsor Circle and the line between W. P. Wyatt and T. M.
