Moor® _ MINUTES The Minutes of the regular meeting held January 2©, 1!53 and of the special meeting held January 26, 1953 were read a~1d approved. On motion duly made by 0, 0. Crowell, seconded by J. '' PICO TERRACE The following resolution was read by the Town Manager! "` WATER LINE ;; PULASKI COUNTY SCHOOL BOARD Frank J. Grittier, Division Supt. Pulaski, Va. ,; extract from minutes of meeting of Pulaski County School Boa held on January Q9, 1953: id. With regard to the. Town of Pulaski water line runningt the Pieo Terrace School property, the following Resolution o by Mr. Jordan, seconded by Mr. Gott, was unanimously passed:; That the PulaskS County School Board agree to ay ones of the estimated cost, ~18,3~83.04 (that is, ~9,196.54~ of th„ moving of said water line from the property of the School Bo to the Peppers Ferry Road; ,! And further, that the easement rights across school p F be relinquished.. Carper, it was unanimously ~MPROVEVMEN~TS RESOLVED, in accordance with recommendations of -the Street Committee, that the- trees at the following locations be removed or impro~red, as noted: A.A. McNew Alfred Belle Apts. - on south side of Third Street NR 2 trees removed. Emmett Hubble 304 Cliff Street 1 tree removed. 0. G. Vaughan 408 Cliff Street Trim .1 tree and otherwise improve. A. J. Weeks 2nd Street, S.1V`. 1 tree removed. PLAN MUNICIPAL The Town Manager submitted proposed plans for BLDG. REMODELING - remodehing the offices in the municipal building, which '~ were considerably discussed. - On motion duly made by J. R. Martin, seconded by C. V. Jackson, it was unanimously RESOLVED, that the Town Manager secure two or three informal bids from local contractors for remodeling Town offices according to prepared plans, as a means of determining whether such work could be done in the-limit of.~1,000.00 as appropriated in the present years budget. On motion duly made by J. R. Martin-, seconded by C. V. Jackson, it was unanimously DIA QONAL PARKING RESOLVED, in accordance with recommendation of the FOURTH STREET NW Street Committee, that diagonal parking on the south side of Fourth Street, N.E. , extended between ~ash.ington Avenue and the alley adjacent to the Coleman Furniture Corporation, be prohibited. T~NN~~ONIZATIOA IAAND~E+FINITELY SPECIAL MEETII~ ON TOYIF~T CODE POLICE OFFICERS PARKING TICKETS PERSONAL Upon recommendation of the Town Managers the matter of synchronisation of traffic lights was tabled indef initely. The Council agreed to hold a special meeting on Tuesday, February 10, 1953 at 4 p.m.~ to further consider the Town Code as prepared by Mr. Kermit V. Rooke, Attorney-at-law, Richmond, Virginia. Councilman Carper advised of several complaints regarding privately owned cars of officers in the Police Department being parked for considerable lengths of time 1 1 ~] ~9~ Council Min. It was stated tY~.t the Chief of Police was aware of the incidents and had requested his officers to strictly comply with the Parking Meter Ordir~M.nce, and had advised th®m that no concessions would be made to officers in the department in the waiving of parking met®r deposits, This ratter was referred to. the Town Manager for further actt~..on.
