HomeMy WebLinkAbout12-18-51' ~~~~ Council Minutes Pulaski, Va., December 18, 1951 The regular semi-monthly meeting of the Town Council of the Town of Pulaski, Virginia was held in the Municipal Building at 4:00 p.m, December 18, 1951. PRESENT There were present: Magor H. R. Imboden presiding Councilmen: I. R. ~arper,~0. 0. Crowell, CIF. D. Macgill, Jr., J.R.Martin, G. R. Steger, W.F. VYhite Absent: E. T. Painter, T. F. ~firt. Also presen Town Manscger: Clerk Town Attorney: Town Treasurer; Visitors : t: E. A . Bec~C Louise D. Logan Garnett S. Moore Lottie R.~Runion Dr. J.A. Haller, Dr. N. S. Gilmer, Dr. Milton 1~. Brookmeyer; J. C. Lawson. CERTIFICATES' Mr. J. C. Lawson, taxi operator and owner, PUBLIC CONY. & NEC. appeared in regard to action taken by the Council at the -Lawson meeting held December 4th, in which he was granted three certificates of public convenience the cabs were put in full operation book to the Council as evidence of conducted by him and apparently in business dose by other taxi owners and necessity, provided ~. He presented a log the amount of business line with the amount of on a ful l time basis . On motion duly made by ~E. F. Rhi te, s ec onde d by I. R. Carper, it was unanimously RESOLVED, that action taken at the regular meeting held December 4, 1951 to grant' three certif ia~ates of public convenience and necessity to T. D. & J. C. Lawson, provided the cabs were put in full operation, shall stand, except that no stipulation shall be made as to the time such cabs are operated. HANEY STREET The matter of right-of-way for Haney Street & PARS LANE and Park Lane was discussed, it being reported that the Street Committee and Town Ms~Bger had viewed the situation and recommended that a 30~ right-ot'-way be obtained for the section of Haney Street and Park Lane. This matter ~ was deferred for further investigation and report. APPLICATIONS On motion duly made by I.R. Carper, BUILDING PERMITS seconded by 0. 0. Macgill, Jr., it was unanimously RESOLVID, that the recommendation of the Street Committee that the matter of ditch on Seventh Street, N.VI1., ir~j! ~, front of residence of Dr. C. P. Pope be referred to the propel owners to investigate the matter of curb and gutter be accepte~. RULING ON On motion duly made by i~. D.
